After much deliberation and with great regret, it has been decided to cancel the Light Infantry and Rifles Reunion at Shrewsbury on 20 Jun 20.

Our concern for the well-being of our veterans and their families, and the effect of current and expected restrictions on the movement of older people and on large gatherings, which are highly likely to be still in effect in three months’ time, mean that a decision is required now.  In the present circumstances, it is not possible to insure against the financial losses that would be incurred in the event of a later cancellation.  For similar reasons, the Reunions of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment and the Royal Green Jackets also have been called off.

Tickets already purchased for 2020 will remain valid for the 2021 Reunion.  However, anybody who has bought a 2020 ticket and would prefer to have a refund now must return their ticket and provide their contact details (e-mail and telephone number) and bank details to this office.  A BACS refund will then be made.

We are grateful to you for your understanding and we regret the disappointment that the cancellation will cause.  We very much look forward to seeing you in Shrewsbury at the 2021 Reunion, which will be held on Sat 19 Jun 21.

The Reunion Committee would be grateful if this notice was given maximum publicity through social media to ensure that those whose e-mail addresses we do not have are also informed.
