    PayPal

    in Light Infantry Forum

The eagle eyed amongst you will probably have noticed that the option to pay for tickets by PayPal has been withdrawn.

PayPal have suspended the account because over the two years that it has been operating, payments into the account have exceeded their 'limit' (which wasn't stated when the account was opened!). They have, quite wrongly, assumed that we are a business and are demanding information such as a trading registration number, details of directors and other such things. Information that I cannot provide because it simply doesn't exist.

I have been in dispute with them now for nearly six months and it has reached the stage where they have now chosen to simply ignore me. I would close the account down but they won't let me do that until the account has a zero balance, and while it's suspended they won't let me transfer money to the reunion account! We're at an impasse! But they're not going to get any more cash from members.

I haven't given up yet, but as they're based in Luxembourg it's proving to be difficult to talk sensibly to an individual, as you may imagine.

There are various other options of paying via the website which I'm investigating and will discuss with the committee members once we are able to meet again.
